Digital Streaming Studio - Evening | Printmaking at Home

Online life drawing and printmaking session that will show students how improvised prints can be made without complicated materials.

Experience a drawing class like no other. These evening drawing sessions, broadcast live from the Royal Drawing School studios, are an opportunity for students to experience the dynamic and dramatic possibilities of the life room from home. Join students online from across the globe to draw from the model, theatrical sets, dancers, musicians and more, with something new each week. Using a range of drawing practices, our expert tutors will guide you through a series of exercises over the course of each session.

In this session we will be studying the life model while exploring the versatile process of monotype printmaking. Moving between drawing and printmaking we will improvise and experiment with how character and atmosphere, tone and colour can be developed. Practical demonstrations will take you through how approaches to printmaking can be adapted and improvised at home.

You’ll only need a few oil pastels to get the most out of this session.

Suggested materials to use:

  • Oil Pastels
  • Sketchbook
  • Paper in various sizes – we suggest A3 – A1
  • A Drawing Board or large book to lean on

Please note: The Royal Drawing School online models will not pose nude. Models in this series will be semi clothed.
