Young Artists: Summer Holiday Course Aged 11 - 15 Week 2

Drawing Animals: Anatomy, Environment and Myth

This week long investigation into drawing animals will offer opportunities to draw from both real and preserved animals as well as considering the animal form in art history.  From the earliest masks through to contemporary practice, animals have been drawn, sculpted and their image used for symbolic purposes. A mid-week visit to the British Museum will enable students to think big and tackle the portrayal of mythical animals. Improve your drawing skills of this notoriously difficult subject matter and consider our ongoing fascination with the animal world.

Course runs from 10am – 4pm, Monday to Friday. Students will be supervised at all times and there will be a maximum class size of 20. This course will run from the studios at Royal Drawing School Shoreditch.
