James Baily

James Baily graduated from Gloucestershire University in 2014 with a BA in Illustration before joining the Royal Drawing School. Modernist design and 20th century art are his main points of reference. The aesthetic arising from these influences, combined with personal experience, is projected onto the subject. James’ latest work is developed from earlier naturalistic life drawings in charcoal, and experiments with oil pastel and paper cut-out. His aim is to create a solid, bold and exciting image which can be explored at length.
