Biography

Leonie studied at Newcastle University before moving to London to attend The Drawing Year at The Prince's Drawing School (now the Royal Drawing School). She draws, prints and experiments in three dimensions, and is captivated by the built environment. Leonie’s awards include the Birgit Skiold Award for Excellence for ‘City Cypher’ in 2009 and highly commended in the Printmaking Today Award for Innovation for ‘The Modulors’ in 2013. In 2012 Leonie was included in ‘Drawing from Msheireb: 12 Artists on a Changing Neighbourhood’. In 2014 she will undertake a fellowship with the British Council at the Venice Biennale of Architecture. Leonie teaches with the Royal Drawing School at Drawing School Central, The Drawing Clubs and The Foundation Year. She has exhibited internationally, including solo shows at Beach Gallery and Exhibit Gallery. Leonie lives and works in London.
