Raphael Barratt

Raphael Barratt studied Fine Art Painting at Camberwell College of Arts (UAL), graduating in 2017 with First-Class Honours. Her work and evolving sensibilities often focus on combining and unifying disparate themes. Her interest in the intense mood and condensed clarity of early Italian Renaissance painting is fused with her own immediate and intuitive response to familiar objects and landscapes. Drawing from observation and from artwork collections in museums and galleries, Raphael’s work shows a degree of abstraction in which the image is both recognised and referenced whilst remaining enigmatic.
