Young Artists: Easter Holiday Course
This four day course will look at how artists have used the contrasts of light and dark to create dramatic effects in their work. Studio exercises will encourage students to gain confidence using graphite and charcoal to build dense and layered drawings. A trip to the National Gallery will introduce students to the powerful paintings of Caravaggio. Returning to the studio for two final days, facial expressions and figure composition will be explored before working on a large-scale sustained drawing from live clothed models.
This course runs from 10am – 4pm, Monday to Thursday.
Students will be supervised at all times and there will be a maximum class size of 20.
This course will run from the studios at Royal Drawing School Shoreditch.
