The Foundation Year at UCAS: Create Your Future
The Royal Drawing School will be exhibiting at UCAS: Create your Future on Monday 15 and Tuesday 16 October (stand 75). This two-day event is an opportunity for school-leavers, teachers and parents to come and talk to members of our staff, tutors and alumni about our foundation course, The Foundation Year. You can ask questions, sign-up for an Open Day at our Trinity Buoy Wharf Studios or just pick up a prospectus.
Join us for a quick collaborative drawing workshop in the Interactive Workshop space on Monday 15th October from 12.45 – 1.15pm. We will also have goody bags of art materials to give away…
The Foundation Year is a one year skills-based course with five days’ teaching a week and a limit of 50 places to ensure one-to-one tuition, with a supportive learning environment in an inspiring part of London’s Docklands buzzing with creatives and artists' studios. This intensive course helps students to develop the making and thinking skills needed for the next level of study and provides a route to a number of creative disciplines. The School awards up to 50% of students a scholarship or fee reduction every year.
The creative industries are thriving in UK, currently growing at nearly triple the rate of the UK economy. Worth over
£92 billion, the creative industries provide one in seventeen jobs, accounting for 2 million jobs overall. There has never been a better time to embark on a creative career and a foundation course is the place to start.
