Please complete the form below, following the instructions given. Applications close 5pm GMT Tuesday 7 May 2024. Submitted applications will be assessed by a Jury of distinguished artists, curators and art collectors in May 2024. Applications are reviewed by a jury panel according to the following criteria:
• Clarity of artistic vision as articulated in the artist statement and work samples
• Persuasive evidence that the applicant is committed in purpose and practice
• Clear evidence that the artist works at a professional level in their field
• Clear indications of the significance and critical role that the residency will play in the development of the artist's project
• Willingness to work in a rural environment and make the most of the opportunities offered by the residency
Applications are open to Drawing Year Alumni and graduates of the Online Drawing Development Year programme only.
We welcome joint applications, but ask that both applicants submit an applications and state in your application who you wish to be in residence with.
If you would like to apply for a printmaking residency at Dumfries House please state in your application. Limited printmaking residencies are available between August - November. We ask that artists applying for a printmaking residency are proficient printmakers.
Please note residency applications will be held on the Royal Drawing School database for one year, after one year applications will be deleted.
