Hugh Morton

Hugh Morton was born in Edinburgh and graduated from Gray’s School of Art in Aberdeen with a BA in Painting in 2017 before taking a years’ residency at Leith School of Art. As an artist he is not interested in one particular subject matter, but in imagery which evokes certain moods through its essential materiality or strangeness. He takes a dynamic approach to pursuing this using both narrative sequences and singular forms as his subjects, always informed by drawing, observation, and memory.
