Joshua Pell

Joshua Pell studied BA Illustration at Cambridge School of Art where he first became enamoured with location drawing. Upon graduating in 2017, he was offered the Royal Drawing School residency at Dumfries House Estate, where he drew from the isolated landscape. For the next 5 years, he catalogued the industrial vernacular of Leeds and his hometown, Hull. His work during The Drawing Year maintains a focus on this spatial connection whilst attempting to reconcile with the spontaneous, uninhibited part of himself.
