Mark Moynihan
- Alumni, 2007
Biography
Mark has worked in and around the offshore industry for most of his working life and uses the genre of portraiture in an attempt to understand the diverse and unpredictable nature of people that surround him. Drawing is fundamental to his practice and often combines a wide range of approaches and mediums in order to draw from and contest traditional representations of the human individual. After finishing The Drawing Year in 2007, Mark went on to complete a Masters at Robert Gordon University in Aberdeen. He is a huge advocate for the inclusion of Art in Hospitals and firmly believes it is integral to the healing process. He welcomes the challenges that accompany private/public commissions and regularly exhibits and enters competitions around the UK. He continues to work offshore as a mechanic to subsidise his practice as an artist.
