Rose Wylie

Rose Wylie is a painter who has exhibited widely nationally and internationally, and whose work is held in many collections. Her large-scale oil on canvas works conjure up child-like memories and wandering, somnambulant perspectives. The imagery evokes a stream of consciousness, fluid way of thinking and creating. The text, collage, and basic colour palette sometimes remind the viewer of Basquiat or Guston. A solo exhibition of Rose Wylie’s work will be the inaugural exhibition at the new Jerwood Gallery in Hastings, running 19 March - June 2012. Wylie is represented by Union Gallery, London.
