Poetry and Movement share a relationship to rhythm and an ability to communicate emotions and meanings that are beyond the literal narrative. In our often-sedentary lives, we can become detached from our innate sense of rhythm and the connections between all things. On this course we will work with actors, dancers and musicians, exploring ways to expand our personal poetic language. We will make drawings that are sometimes abstract but always connected to a reality that includes observation that is both visual and aural. Poems, Music and Dance will be the inspiration, the bridge, to the discovery of new and visceral ways to make marks on paper. This course will be challenging but all that is needed is an open mind and a willingness to take risks and to sometimes fail.

Free charcoal, newsprint and masking tape are provided in the Studios. There is an added paper fee for the use of cartridge paper throughout the course.
