Young Artists Exhibition 2019 at Norwich Cathedral
Drawing by Felicity, Norwich Drawing Club
A selection of drawings from the Royal Drawing School’s Young Artists programme for 10 to 18 year olds. Featuring work from the Norwich Drawing Club which is based at St George’s Works and led by local artists Douglas Farthing, Paul Fenner and Anna Rumsby.
The work is representative of hundreds of drawings that have been made by our Young Artists during the course of the last academic year, reflecting their talent and celebrating their achievements. Each week students are challenged to capture their observations of the world around them and put them to paper. Students work from models, still life scenes, artworks in local galleries and museums, and from the streets and green spaces in the city. Through regular practice students not only improve their drawing skills but also enhance their ability to focus, concentrate and make a personal responses to their environment.
A larger exhibition of over 250 drawings from the Young Artists programme will be on display at the Royal Drawing School (Shoreditch, East London) in September 2019.
