See new works by Drawing Year alumni Laura Footes and Paul Majek in Vestiges, an exhibition bringing together five contemporary painters exploring memory, inheritance, and traces of the past. Laura Footes' practice draws on the subconscious and her experience of living with a chronic illness, reimagining the city as an emotional and psychological landscape. Paul Majek's paintings explore memory, family history, and spirituality, using layers of opacity and transparency to reflect themes of loss and change.

Jessica Jane Charleston is exhibiting work in SELF STUDIES, a group exhibition bringing together ten artists from different generations whose practices explore notions of selfhood through painting, drawing, ceramics, and textiles. The exhibition considers the body as a site where memory, desire, identity, and external perception converge, examining the many ways artists represent and understand the self.

See new works by Charlie Masson in this solo exhibition, Unplugged. A keen observer of the world around him, Masson draws inspiration from everyday life and seemingly ordinary objects, revealing their unexpected depth and significance. Echoing Flaubert's observation that "anything becomes interesting if you look at it long enough", the exhibition invites viewers to find wonder in the familiar.

See work by six Drawing Year alumni in this intimate group exhibition, which brings together nine contemporary artists exploring moments of transition and transformation. The exhibition reflects on the in-between spaces we encounter throughout life: moments we hold onto, return to, move away from, move towards, and ultimately surrender to.

See new work, Tongue-tied, by Tess Tomassini in the group exhibition La Belle et La Bête. Taking its title from Gabrielle-Suzanne Barbot de Villeneuve's celebrated fairy tale, the exhibition explores themes of transformation, desire, and the power of storytelling. Since its first publication in 1740, the tale has continued to inspire generations of artists, writers, musicians, and filmmakers.

In the House of Tapestries at Boughton House, open until 2 September 2026

 

Created in response to repeated visits to Boughton over several years, Catherine Goodman’s works draw inspiration from the architecture, collections and atmosphere of the House. The exhibition offers a contemporary interpretation of Boughton’s rich artistic heritage. The exhibition marks the first time Goodman has translated her painterly practice into tapestry, creating a compelling dialogue between new contemporary works and Boughton’s historic interiors and collections.
