Support us

As an independent educational charity, we believe everyone, whatever their financial circumstance, should be able to benefit from our teaching, and therefore all our courses are subsidised and come with a range of scholarships and bursaries.
We receive no public funding so rely on the support of individuals, companies, trusts and foundations to sustain and develop our programmes and to build our scholarship funds.

Support our programmes
There are many ways to help us keep what we do accessible to everyone.

The Drawing Year Fund
Support the next generation of artists by donating to the Drawing Year Fund. We welcome donations of any size.
The Drawing Year is a full-scholarship, postgraduate-level course. It offers a financially accessible opportunity to study in London under the tutelage of a faculty of leading artists. A full scholarship place can be supported with a donation of £15,000.
The programme provides studio space, 30 hours of teaching each week, tutorials, and access to a means-tested London Living Grant.
Supporters are welcomed into our creative community through Private Views, gallery visits, and our annual Spring Supper that celebrates the success of our students and alumni.

Young Artists Scholarships
We believe all young people should have the opportunity to learn and build creative futures.
Artistic young people who receive little or no timetabled art at school and lack the financial resources to supplement creative education, can find themselves at a disadvantage.
That’s why we provide scholarships and bursaries for over half our Young Artists places. To sustain this level of support, we rely on the generosity and vision of trusts, foundations, and individuals who, like us, want to fill the gap in mainstream arts education for all.

Leave a legacy
Leaving a gift in your Will to the Royal Drawing School helps ensure we can continue offering world-class drawing education to artists of all ages and backgrounds.
Founded nearly 25 years ago by HM King Charles III and artist Catherine Goodman CBE LVO, the School now reaches students globally, both in-person and online.
A legacy gift of any size — even 1% of your estate — will have a lasting impact; supporting scholarships and securing our programmes for future generations.

Thank you
As an independent charity, we rely on the generosity and commitment of a wide range of supporters to keep our teaching accessible to all those with a passion for drawing.
