Exhibitions
The Royal Drawing School presents five exhibitions a year, showcasing the breadth and vitality of drawing in contemporary art practice. Many exhibitions feature work by alumni of The Drawing Year, the School’s full scholarship postgraduate-level programme.
As well as highlighting drawing’s enduring power, the exhibitions reconnect artists from across different years of the programme, offering a glimpse into the lasting impact of the School’s teaching and community.
Many of the exhibitions include works for sale, with proceeds supporting both the artists and the Royal Drawing School.
The exhibitions are presented in the Royal Drawing School’s Maria Manetti Shrem Gallery Studios in Shoreditch.
Lectures & events
Each year, the School welcomes renowned artists, designers, writers and thinkers to share their insights on our Wednesday evening lectures. These talks offer a unique opportunity to explore the role of drawing across diverse fields, from painting and performance to architecture, design, storytelling and science.
Special drawing workshops and events happen throughout the year in partnership with a variety of cultural institutions in London and beyond, including the Royal Academy, The Tower of London and Hauser & Wirth Somerset.
