Julia studied History of Art at the University of Leeds. She has lived and worked in Holland, Australia, Mexico and Spain. Julia has worked at the Royal Drawing School for over four years, joining as Public Programmes Manager in 2010. She worked on developing the School’s Public Courses at Kensington Palace and oversaw the setup of Royal Drawing School West and Drawing School Central. Julia has worked as Head of Education Management, Marketing & Communications since 2011 and manages the postgraduate programme and the programming and management of the school’s Public Courses. Julia is also responsible for School-wide marketing and communications. Julia started her career working in commercial galleries and fine art publishers and prior to joining the School she worked as a Business Consultant in the arts, during which time she helped win the new Barclays Small Business Award for The Papered Parlour art space in south London. Julia was Managing Director of Paper Scissor Stone an award winning concept store, exhibition space and fine art publishers that she co-founded with illustrator Si Scott and clothing label Electronic Poet in 2008. In another life she set up a bar on a tropical island in Mexico at the age of 19, where she lived for two years. The bar remains the longest standing on the island.
