Benedict Barbour

Ben holds a BA from the Slade (1998) and MFA from SFAI (2019), plus furniture-making training from Chippendale. From his Belhaven, Scotland studio, he explores nature through drawing and sculpture.

Biography

Ben has a BA Fine Art Hons from The Slade School of Fine Art, UCL (1998) and an MFA from the San Francisco Art Institute (SFAI) (2019). He completed a professional furniture making course at the Chippendale International School of Furniture (2021). His practise currently explores our relationship with the natural environment, primarily through drawing and sculpture, often referencing or directly incorporating found objects and materials into the work. He has a studio in Belhaven, Scotland.
