Danny Markey is a Somerset-based painter known for his atmospheric scenes of everyday life. A long-time exhibitor with the Redfern Gallery, his work is held in major UK and US public collections.

Biography

Danny Markey was born in Falmouth, Cornwall in 1965. He studied at Falmouth School of Art (1983–84) and at Camberwell School of Art (1984–87). Markey is represented by the Redfern Gallery, London, where he has shown regularly since 1992.
He has been a prizewinner in many open exhibitions, including the South Bank Picture Show, the Discerning Eye, the Lynn Painter-Stainers Prize and the Sunday Times Watercolour Competition.

Markey's work has been included in many group shows such as 'Towards Night' at the Towner, Eastbourne (2016). Examples of his work are in the British Museum, the Royal West of England Academy, Bristol, the Falmouth Art Gallery, and the Old Jail Center, Albany, Texas.
Danny lives and works in Somerset.
