Biography
Chris Wallbank is a visual artist with an interest in working from direct observation of landscapes and wildlife; rural and urban. His practice focuses on observational drawing as a means to re-engage with the familiar environments he finds on his doorstep. This approach has led him to establish collaborative art projects with organisations working in environmental conservation including: Sheffield University, Festival of the Mind, the Society of Wildlife Artists and the Manu Learning Centre, Peru. Chris’ illustration clients include: Bloomsbury Publishing, S4C Television and the Strata Florida Landscape Heritage Project. He is a regular exhibitor at the Mall Galleries, London and has held solo exhibitions at the Cheng-Kim Loke Gallery, Sheffield Cathedral and Ynys-hir Ceredigion. Chris was elected a full member of the Society of Wildlife Artists in October 2016.
