Jamie Stenhouse

Jamie Stenhouse studied Drawing at Falmouth University, followed by The Drawing Year.  Observational drawing informs Jamie’s practice: initial drawings lead to further drawings, and over time culminate in paintings and etchings in the studio. Jamie finds drawing mnemonic, and a rehearsal of ‘stuff’, which draws out the feelings in his head. The works of Giovanni Bellini, William Hogarth, Leon Kossoff, Frank Auerbach and Michael Broughton continue to surprise him.
