Biography
Laura studied on The Drawing Year at The Prince's Drawing School (now the Royal Drawing School) and since then has worked continually developing her art through private study and attending classes. Laura’s work combines her struggle between artistic expression and physical and learning disability. Laura has won several competitions including the Skinners’ Company Philip Connard Travel Award and the Independent Assessment Board Commendation Award. In 2014, Laura won a competition to design the logo for Choice Support’s 30th Anniversary. Laura has exhibited in various galleries over the past 11 years such as the Type Museum, City Lit, Cadogan Contemporary and St James the Less. Through drawing and painting Laura's work expresses a sense of character often hidden beneath the surface or initial facade of her subject matter. She offers the viewer a unique way of seeing and an opportunity to pause and consider.
