Lucy Mellor

Biography

Lucy Mellor studied at Byam Shaw, the Slade and The Prince's Drawing School (now the Royal Drawing School). She completed a residency at The Art House, Wakefield in 2012, which culminated with the exhibition ‘A Glaring of Owls’. She has been involved in organising several group exhibitions including ‘Picture House’ and ‘Painting and Pigeons’. She works in monoprint and oil paint and enjoys making stories in her work; using groups of angels, birds, animals and plants which sometimes escape the edges of the paper and canvas they originate from, multiplying and spilling out to fill the space they occupy.
