Phoebe Cope

Phoebe Cope was born and grew up in Ireland. She attended all-Irish Gaelic speaking schools in Carlow before going to study at Oxford University and taking a Bachelors degree at the Ruskin School of Fine Art in 2002. She was a student on The Drawing Year at The Prince's Drawing School (now the Royal Drawing School) from 2004-6. Phoebe is a painter of places and people, interested in depicting their everydayness. Yet so often life is stranger than fiction and the finished result in painting always ends up as a surprise.
