Biography
Timothy Betjeman was born in New York City in 1982 and has been based in London since 2006. He studied Fine Art and Philosophy at The University of Chicago (BA) before going on to The Drawing Year at The Prince's Drawing School (now the Royal Drawing School). He has held residencies in Kensington Palace (2009) and the International Institute of Fine Art, India, for the Royal Drawing School's International Teaching and Art Residency (2010). In 2013 he had solo shows in Hong Kong and London and exhibited in the 2014 Lynn Painter-Stainers Prize. Timothy’s artwork relies heavily on instinctual drawing to approach elements of time-based line and movement within his subjects, which include both church architecture and London street scenes.
