Drawing Year Alumni, 2016
Biography
Eleanor May Watson studied Fine Art Painting at Wimbledon College of Art. On graduating she continued to make oil paintings of notably empty, aspirational interiors and exhibited widely in London and internationally. Drawing from life, film, and at The National Gallery during the Drawing Year contributed to the introduction of figures in Eleanor’s current work; and helped her to better understand her relationship to artifice within her work. Recently, Eleanor received the Jonathan Vickers Fine Art Award and is now based in Derbyshire to complete the 9 month residency; working towards her first large solo exhibition at the Derby Museum and Art Gallery in September 2017.
