Biography
After the Drawing Year I completed a 3 year stone masonry apprenticeship and subsequently worked for a firm specialising in church restoration and conservation. Later going self employed as well as studying historic stone carving at City and Guilds. I am now a self employed carver and mason. Recent work includes Drystone walling in the Yorkshire Dales and Moors, masonry work for artists and carvers including a permanent sculpture trail in Scarborough. I want to honour the materials I work with, by using hand, head and heart I hope to bring out the beauty in stone.
