Jane Hodge

Biography

Still investigating and drawing her immediate environment, Jane has been doing so every day since leaving the Slade some forty-five years ago, as well as teaching at Central St Martins and bringing up children, financed by commercial design and illustration. Although trained as a painter, recently Jane has focussed on printmaking, loving its potential for mysterious, vibrant – and unpredictable – mark-making. Working in her studio in Hampshire, she strives to express her connection with the complex fundamentals of nature – maybe an attempt to reconcile with mortality. She is a member of East London Printmakers and Loop co-operatives and exhibits regularly.
