Joshua Pell

Biography

Joshua Pell studied BA Illustration at Cambridge School of Art (2017) where he first became enamoured with drawing on location. He was offered the RDS Dumfries House residency (2018) and was accepted onto the Drawing Year (2022-23). He has since worked as an Artist in Residence at the King’s Gallery (2024-25). Pell’s compositions combine observation, imagination and memory. With working-class environments as his backdrop, he alludes to a life-long search for meaning in a boundless city.
