Biography
Justine King gained a first-class degree in Drawing and Painting at Edinburgh College of art. She has since exhibited at The Royal Scottish Academy where she was awarded for her series of drawings. She creates large, time-induced, intricate drawings using controlled tonal shifts. Luring viewers closer to the surface is important to reveal her process of creating a cumulative drawing.
My work involves large-scale drawings which I build by re-constructing thoughts and memories looking into material and matter. Using drawing and painting in a more traditional sense allows me to explore more possibilities within the purity of the medium.
