Leila Lawrance

Biography

Leila Lawrance was born in 1991 and grew up in Sussex. Before joining The Drawing Year Leila graduated with a First Class degree in Fine Art from Newcastle University in 2014. She received the Bartlett Research Scholarship in 2012 and 2014, and the Hatton Prize in 2014. Leila’s practice envelops drawing, printmaking, digital techniques and painting, and she is interested in drawing’s ability to operate between painterly and sculptural language.
