Biography

Matilda Ellis studied Illustration Animation at Kingston University graduating with a First-Class Honours in 2017. Her practice combines media to tell stories that are evocative rather than linear. Using print, painting, drawing and animation, her work explores ancient narratives to create connections between the personal and the historical. The Drawing Year has allowed Matilda to push the boundaries of her practice and focus on drawing as a tool to distil information about the world.
