Biography
Naomi Workman (b. 1990, Somerset, UK) is a British artist based in London.
Drawn to movement, interaction, and rhythm, she depicts individuals or like-minded groups interwoven with implied narratives. In her figurative compositions, protagonists are absorbed in a single activity or shared purpose. Animals, particularly horses, frequently appear alongside them, evoking themes of circus performers and domestic companionship. Workman’s exaggerated figures come to life through an intuitively applied, colour palette, where cool blues sit beside hot reds. Her sketchbooks contain pencil drawings from first-person experiences and observed interactions—studies of interior settings evolving into invented characters in familiar yet strange landscapes.
