Biography

Rosie Tuff (b. 2001, Cornwall) graduated from The University of Brighton with a BA in Painting in 2023. Upon graduating, she was awarded the Freelands Painting Prize and selected for the Porthmeor Studios residency programme in 2024. With an intention to expand the role of drawing within her own practice, she joined The Drawing Year in 2023. Tuff has since used drawing as a means of recording discrete motifs and spacial structures embedded within her immediate environment. In Tuff’s evolving personal pictorial language, figuration emerges and disappears, often hinting at an isolated observation.
