Biography

Sophie Birch holds a first class degree in Painting from UAL. Drawing is often her point of departure, a way of collecting in a visual diary, what she sees, remembers and imagines. She works with and over these drawings, adding another layer of seeing, using a variety of media. Sophie is attracted to subjects which are in transition or have the potential to transition; things which are about to happen, go somewhere, or be transformed into something else.
