Often cited as the most democratic annual selling exhibition, the Royal Academy's Summer Exhibition has been held without interruption since 1769 and displays works in a variety of mediums and genres. Timothy Hyman RA has curated Gallery VI, a room with a clear focus on drawing and painting. His selection explores the boundaries between reality and fantasy, the physical and metaphysical, as well as more observational images. Changes of scale characterise Hyman’s hang, with smaller drawings conveying particular moods and providing points of interest. The following alumni are featured in his selection:
