Overview

An intensive week structured around different drawing experiences every day, this course is for anyone who wants to immerse themselves in the collective energy of an intensive drawing course and significantly improve their drawing skills. Students will be able to experience a variety of drawing sessions including drawing from models, focusing on anatomy, imagination, collage and world imagery.

Discussion of the various reasons for making life drawings will be encouraged, individual guidance will be given throughout, and the week will culminate in a critique of students’ work. The variety of starting points will challenge and keep students on their toes, awake and alert, to all the possibilities of drawing.

Who is it for

Beginners welcome. No experience of drawing required.

What’s provided

For studio courses, easels, drawing boards, charcoal, newsprint and masking tape are provided in the studios for free. There is an added paper fee included at the time of booking which covers the use of cartridge and watercolour paper that is provided in the studios. Any other materials you would like to use please bring with you; we will send out a suggested material list before the start of your course.

What to bring

You are encouraged to bring your own additional materials for personal use only, to the studio. This is an example list of what may be needed; a full material lists will be provided one week before your course begins. Our suggestions include:

Concessions

Unfortunately, we do not offer concessions on our One Week Holiday courses. All of our course rates are subsidised and we also offer a comprehensive concessions scheme on our term-time courses.
