Overview
Join the Royal Drawing School for a special class celebrating the Getty Museum's exhibition 'Learning to Draw.' This live, online drawing session combines tutor-led guidance, insights from the exhibition curator, and a live model to explore how drawing shaped the practice of renowned artists working between 1550 and 1850.
Led by tutor Tara Versey, the class moves through a series of practical drawing exercises inspired by three exceptional works from the exhibition. Together, participants examine composition, materials, and mark-making, and consider how these masterful works reveal drawing as both a discipline and a foundation for artistic thinking.
Whether you are beginning your drawing journey or seeking to deepen existing skills, this session offers a chance to engage closely with historical artworks while developing your own drawing abilities—an inspiring way to start the new year.
Please note online models will not pose nude. Models in this series will be semi-clothed.
This class will be live-streamed at 6:30pm - 8:30pm (GMT) and 10:30am - 12:30pm (PST).
