Overview

Autumn term courses will open for booking on Wednesday 30 July at midday.

Held onsite at the National Gallery, this course is inspired by the gallery's incredible collection spanning 2,300 paintings from the 13th to the 19th centuries. Sessions include figure drawing, landscape, portraiture, and mythology, with insights into art history

Students will develop key drawing skills-line, tone, shape, form, perspective, proportion, and colour, and be encouraged to keep a regular sketchbook.

Young artists will sharpen their observational skills, develop their own artistic voice, and work directly from artworks on display in the gallery.

Students will be drawing in public gallery spaces at the National Gallery and, occasionally, outdoors.
