Digital Streaming Studio - Evening | Unexpected Compositions

In this live drawing session, students will focus on composition, bringing multiple elements together to create something unexpected.

These evening drawing sessions, broadcast live from the Royal Drawing School studios, are an opportunity for students to experience the dynamic and dramatic possibilities of the life room from home. Join students online from across the globe to draw from the model, theatrical sets, dancers, musicians and more, with something new each week. Using a range of drawing practices, our expert tutors will guide you through a series of exercises over the course of each session.

In this two-hour life drawing session, students will focus on composition, bringing multiple elements together to create something unexpected. Led by tutor Harry Parker, students will create compelling compositions from drawing a live model and still life elements. A range of digital processes and specialist equipment will be used in the session to help create these unexpected composites. All levels welcome.

Suggested Materials:

The session will use primarily the following materials:

  • Charcoal
  • Pencil
  • Sharpener
  • Putty and Hard Erasers
  • Paper (assorted sizes)
  • A Drawing Board or large book to lean on

Optional:

  • Graphite Stick
  • Coloured Pencils
  • Pastels
  • Ink Pens

Please note: The Royal Drawing School online models will not pose nude. Models in this series will be semi clothed.
