Overview
Booking for our Easter courses will open on Saturday 7th February at 3pm.
During this course students will learn how to combine the observed and the imagined, distorting life models into mythical creatures and turning still life into fantastical landscapes. Using observational drawing exercises, prompts, miniature set building and shadow theatre, each day will offer a different way of stretching imaginations.
Inspired by theatre design and production books, each student will each produce their own playbook by the end of the course. The playbook will include a front cover, a page introducing the protagonist, a double spread introducing the setting, and pages depicting the narrative to create a cohesive story for their imagined world.
Different approaches will encourage students to build a consistent sense of narrative and storytelling, and the young artists will end the course with a strong sense of the world they have built, the characters they have created and an imaginative body of work.
This course may include out of house trips in Zones 1 or 2. A full schedule will be provided in advance. To attend this course, students must have a good level of spoken English. Please note we do not take group bookings for our courses.
