Overview

Students will draw from observation and imagination to investigate still-life scenes in the studio, outside, and in dreams and memories. Young artists will work individually and collaboratively to create universes that explore space, scale, tone, and colour through drawing techniques, collage, and sculpture.

This course covers a wide range of techniques, mediums, and ways of working. To begin, young artists will learn by borrowing from artists such as David Hockney and Lubaina Himid and by collating landscape and theatre concepts from galleries and museums. Students will transfer their knowledge and skills in the studio to create immersive drawings based on what they have learnt.

This course is for young artists who are interested in landscapes, drawing the figure, set design, theatre, and costume and mask creation. Students will have the opportunity to work independently and as a group.

This course may include at out of house trip in Zones 1 or 2. A full schedule will be provided in advance. To attend this course, students must have a good level of spoken English. Please note we do not take group bookings for our courses.
