Deanio X: Sir Denis Mahon Award 2021 Exhibition

Deanio X studied on the Royal Drawing School’s postgraduate programme, The Drawing Year, and is the 2020-21 recipient of the Sir Denis Mahon Award. The Sir Denis Mahon prize of £10,000 is awarded to an outgoing Drawing Year student each year. The award allows them to continue their practice, providing them with funding for a studio space as well as a solo exhibition at the end of the year. Deanio X previously studied history and literature at University of Kent and the University of Miami.

Deanio X is a visual artist engaging varying disciplines to create visual narratives in response to concealed human histories. He describes the exhibition as 'a story of perseverance in the face of hostile psychological, physical and social environments'.
