Overview

This course is based in St Mary's Works the heart of Norwich’s creative quarter. The School has a dedicated studio, with access to easels and a range of different materials.
During the course students will explore and develop key drawing techniques and skills, experimenting and exploring line, tone, shape, form, perspective, proportion, and colour. Sessions will include drawing from clothed models, still life sets, artworks, film and imagination. Young artists will have the opportunity to create collaborative works, theatrical sets and animations as well as venturing into Norwich to draw the city.
Young artists will be encouraged to develop their artistic voice and observation skills and will be given the opportunity to use a wide range of materials and mixed media.

Who is it for
Students aged 10–14 (school years 5–9) with a passion for drawing and a desire to develop their skills.

We offer 50% and 100% means-tested scholarships to students with a passion for drawing and a commitment to regular attendance.
To apply for a scholarship, please complete the Scholarship Application Form.
If your application is successful, you will be added to our general scholarship database. Ahead of each term you will be asked to select your course preferences, however please note that this does not guarantee a place on a termly course.
All courses are allocated on a first come first serve basis. If you are successful in securing a place on a course we will email you to confirm which course your Young Artist will be attending.
Please note applications for the database will be open from Friday 26 September to Friday 10 October at midday.
