Overview

Inspired by ancient depictions of folklore creatures and the curious fables from which they derive, students will draw from observation and their imaginations to create their own mythic creatures and worlds in this one-day course.

During the first half of the day, students will use this source material to create masks, costumes, and accessories. In the afternoon, students will draw from a model adorned in their creations.

Young Artists will be encouraged to conjure mischievous characters and atmospheric environments while they work with the model, creating their own winter folkloric scenes.

This course will offer Young Artists an exciting opportunity to explore a range of mythic tales and gain a deeper understanding of how to combine drawing from observation and imagination to make contemporary works.
