Overview
Booking for our Easter courses will open on Saturday 7th February at 3pm.
During this course students will develop the skills needed to create a large-scale, collaborative mural drawing inspired by the unique relationship between animals and humans.
Each day will focus on a different skill such as composition and movement, balancing careful observation with imaginative interpretation. Students will draw from models, animals, and their surrounding environment to create sketches and studies that will be developed into larger compositions, with an emphasis on learning how to plan and draw confidently at scale.
Students will take inspiration from historical and contemporary artists who use animals and other everyday subjects to suggest wider ideas about people, relationships, and the world around them.
While allowing space for individual artistic development, the course will involve working alongside others in pairs, small groups, and as a whole class. By contributing to a shared artwork, students will gain experience of collaboration, problem-solving, and collective decision-making.
Please note this course may include drawing from a live dog in the studio.
This course may include out of house trips in Zones 1 or 2. A full schedule will be provided in advance. To attend this course, students must have a good level of spoken English. Please note we do not take group bookings for our courses.
