Overview

Booking for our Young Artist Holiday Courses will open on Wednesday 3 June at midday.

Taking inspiration from London myths and the idea of the city as a living entity, students will develop their own visual stories—thinking about hidden worlds, secret rooms, and imagined inhabitants that exist within the urban landscape.

Through drawing, painting, and model making, students will document the interiors and exteriors of Shoreditch before reimagining them through colour, pattern, and narrative. Students will look at how artists and mural painters transform spaces, turning walls into immersive environments that tell stories.

Throughout the week, students will move from sketchbook drawings and smaller studies to more developed compositions. The course will culminate in the creation of large-scale mural drawings, where students will translate their ideas into bold, expressive works that respond to scale, space, and storytelling.

Students will develop confidence in their drawing, painting and model making skills while learning how to use observation as a starting point for imagination and storytelling. They will gain an understanding of how artists transform spaces, particularly through mural-making, and how ideas can evolve from small studies into large-scale works.

To attend this course students must have a good level of spoken English.

Please note we do not take group bookings for our courses.

This course may include out of house trips in zones 1 or 2. A full schedule will be provided in advance.
